Saskatchewan has over 100,000 lakes with world-renowned fishing for trophy lake trout, northern pike, and walleye. Lake Athabasca in the north produces massive lake trout exceeding 50 pounds, while the Churchill and Saskatchewan River systems offer excellent pike and walleye fishing. Lac la Ronge and the myriad fly-in lakes of the Canadian Shield provide some of the most remote and productive fishing in North America, with trophy pike over 40 inches common in the northern reaches.
