Yes! There's a fully functional Free version that includes catch logging, fish ID, weather, solunar predictions, voice controls, both Dream and Classic skins, and more — with some limits (10 catches, first 10 species in the field guide, 10 tackle items). The Pro version unlocks everything with no limits for $8.99/year or $19.99 lifetime (CAD).

The CatchTales app requires Android 7.0 (Nougat) or newer. The website works best on the latest version of Chrome, Samsung Internet, Safari, or Firefox.

You can download the Free version directly from catchtales.com/free on your Android phone. The APK file will install the app. Make sure you've enabled "Install from unknown sources" in your phone settings. The Pro version can be purchased by emailing us at catchtales@yahoo.com.

Currently, CatchTales is available for Android only. We're exploring iOS development — stay tuned!

Dream Skin creates an immersive fishing atmosphere with an underwater background and animated fish silhouettes (Pike, Perch, Walleye, Bass, Sunfish) swimming across your screen. Dark mode is locked for the full effect. Classic Skin provides a clean, professional interface with 5 color themes (Ocean Blue, Forest Green, Sunset Orange, Midnight, Lakeside) and a light/dark toggle. You can switch between them anytime from the 3-dot menu — no restart needed.

The field guide includes 305 freshwater species found across Canada and the United States. Each species has photos, descriptions, size ranges, habitat information, diet, and fishing tips. Free users can access the first 10 species; Pro users get full access.

Yes! The Pro version lets you select any area on the map and cache it for offline use — including base maps, nautical charts, depth overlays, and weather data. You can manage your downloaded regions individually. The Free version requires an internet connection for maps and weather.

Yes! Pro users get cloud sync, so your catches are backed up and available across all your devices. Fish Together mode also lets you share catches, photos, and chat with friends in real time. Each user gets a permanent fishing room — create it once and share the code. You can even open the chat as a separate window to switch between apps freely!

CatchTales is available in English, French, Spanish, German, and Ukrainian. All features, help text, and the introductory walkthrough are fully translated.
