Fishing Guides
15,600+ verified fishing spots with species, boat launches, and regulations.
What it does
Fishing Guides is the largest built-in fishing guide in a mobile app: 15,600+ real, verified fishing spots across 50 US states and 13 Canadian provinces — lakes, rivers, and reservoirs with species, locations, and 39,000+ boat launches with turn-by-turn directions.
Fishing regulations included: every spot shows species limits, seasons, and barbless-hook rules (highlighted — the #1 cause of fines). Zone-based tables for Ontario (20 FMZs), Quebec (29 zones), and more.

How to use it
- Open Fishing Guides from the ⋮ menu.
- Pick a province or state, then browse its regions.
- Search within a region by spot name or species.
- Tap a lake or river to see its species and regulations.
- Tap a boat launch for turn-by-turn directions.
- Spot something wrong? Use Contact to report it.
Help improve the guide
CatchTales is community-driven. Four ways you can help:
- Suggest a launch name — hold a launch name (or tap the edit icon) to suggest a better name; your suggestion helps improve the guide for everyone
- Correct regulations — tap the zone pencil icon to submit a correction if a rule looks wrong
- Add launch details — tap a launch's info icon to record cost, where to pay, open hours, inspections, and AIS certificate rules for other anglers
- Fix a launch location — use Move Launch to Correct Spot to put a launch exactly where it really is
💡 Pro tips
Search any province or state to find spots by name or species. Barbless-hook rules are highlighted everywhere — they're the #1 cause of fines, so check before you fish!
