Fishing Tips for the Labrador Region
- Get a licence -- Buy online at gov.nl.ca/fishing. A separate Atlantic salmon licence is required for salmon rivers like the Eagle River.
- Plan for fly-in -- Most of Labrador's best fishing requires float plane access. Lodges at Eagle River and Churchill River offer all-inclusive packages.
- Short season -- Labrador's fishing season is short (July through mid-September). Plan accordingly and book well in advance.
- Target Arctic char -- Labrador's coastal rivers offer world-class Arctic char fishing in late summer. These powerful fish are a bucket-list catch.
