Rankin Inlet, Baker Lake, Arviat, Chesterfield Inlet, Wager Bay, and the Arctic char fishing of western Hudson Bay.

1. Baker Lake (Arctic Char)

Baker Lake is the heart of Nunavut's Arctic char fishing. The lake and its surrounding river systems host one of the largest Arctic char populations in the world. Char average 5-10 pounds, with larger fish available. Lodge accommodations and guided trips available.

2. Rankin Inlet Area (Arctic Char, Brook Trout)

Rankin Inlet, Hudson Bay coast

The Rankin Inlet area offers excellent Arctic char and brook trout fishing. Several rivers, including the Ferguson and Wilson rivers, host healthy char runs. Rankin Inlet has the best infrastructure in Nunavut for visiting anglers.

3. Ferguson River (Arctic Char)

The Ferguson River offers excellent Arctic char fishing flowing into Hudson Bay near Rankin Inlet. A productive tundra river with good char runs in July and August.

4. Wilson River (Arctic Char, Brook Trout)

5. Arviat Area (Arctic Char, Brook Trout)

The Arviat area offers Arctic char and brook trout fishing in the rivers and lakes near the southernmost community in Nunavut. The Maguse River area is particularly productive.

Wager Bay offers excellent Arctic char fishing in a unique tidal environment within Ukkusiksalik National Park. Char average 4-8 pounds. Accessible by boat from Chesterfield Inlet or float plane.

10. Marble Island (Arctic Char)
