Manitoba has over 100,000 lakes including Lakes Winnipeg, Winnipegosis, and Manitoba — three of the largest lakes in the world. From world-class walleye and northern pike on Lake Winnipeg and the Saskatchewan River delta to the remote fly-in lake trout fisheries of the Canadian Shield, Manitoba offers outstanding fishing across the prairies, parklands, and boreal north. The Red and Assiniboine Rivers provide excellent urban fishing in Winnipeg for catfish, walleye, and goldeye.

- Barbless hooks are MANDATORY in all Manitoba waters. All hooks on all your lines (in use or not) must be barbless; barbed hooks may be kept in the tackle box. Fine for using barbed hooks: $220.
