Fishing in the Mackenzie River Valley

1. Mackenzie River (Arctic Grayling, Inconnu, Northern Pike)

The Mackenzie River at Fort Providence offers inconnu (coney), Arctic grayling, and northern pike fishing. Inconnu can exceed 30 pounds and are powerful fighters. This is one of the best locations in Canada to target this unique species.

The South Nahanni River in Nahanni National Park offers Arctic grayling and walleye fishing in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Grayling in the 14-18 inch range are common. The river's spectacular scenery includes Virginia Falls, twice the height of Niagara.
