Nova Scotia has over 6,000 lakes and countless rivers on a peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. The province offers outstanding sea-run brook trout fishing in coastal rivers, excellent Atlantic salmon fishing on the Margaree and Medway Rivers, and productive smallmouth bass fisheries in inland lakes like Lake Rossignol and Grand Lake. The Bras d'Or Lakes provide unique saltwater fishing for striped bass, mackerel, and flounder, while the Bay of Fundy offers world-record tuna and halibut opportunities.
