CatchTales collects the following information to provide and improve our fishing companion service:

Account Information: Email address and display name (when you create an account)
Catch Data: Species, weight, length, location (GPS coordinates), date/time, weather conditions, and photos you upload
Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for diagnostics
Usage Data: How you interact with the app to improve features

How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve our services
To enable cloud sync and Fish Together features
To send Pro license codes and support communications
To diagnose technical issues
To generate anonymous community statistics

Data Storage & Security

Your catch data is stored locally on your device and optionally in Firebase Cloud Firestore
Photos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage
We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services: Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, storage, and analytics; OpenWeatherMap for weather data; OpenStreetMap / OpenSeaMap for map tiles; Google Gemini AI for AI features; and Stripe for payment processing.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Anonymized, aggregated catch statistics may be shared through the Community Stats feature.

Your Rights

Access, update, or delete your data at any time
Export your data in CSV, JSON, or KML format
Withdraw consent for cloud features at any time
